Here's what's client is concern about.
Upon removal of bridge, I realised the steel saddle is actually a fret. The breaking angle is not a lot, which may explain why it's not a loud instrument. (at least not responsive)

The 3 ebony dowels inside. Dowels worked well on butt joints. Seem like a bad idea on a guitar bridge, as would screws!
