This is the most dramatic headstock repair project I've ever undertaken.
Despite a repair higher than the cost of the instrument, the owner decided to restore this baby for sentimental reasons.
It took a lot to get to this point, mending up al the broken pieces,
one by one.
Matching them up accurately is essential for a successful restoration
With missing bits, this is the best I could get to.
The front looked alright.
I easily sanded through to the raw wood due to the thin fragile finish. A few fresh coats of shellac brightens up the surface.
