This 2017 Martin D-28 came in, in two from a customer, almost in tears. It had just tipped gently over the guitar stand on stage.
With a plainsawn neck material, no wonder it broke, and so cleanly and completely.
I helped the customer to word a letter to Martin and they allowed the owner to return it to the factory. But after considering freight and all, he decided to let me restore this baby.
With a complete break like this, it's essential to take time to reattach it in the right orientation.
Once they aligned perfectly, they need very little pressure. But, I've made special cauls so the clamps can do their work perfectly.
This cracked line looks overt on this side, as fragments were lost during the impact.
