Fender GA-45SCE NAT
Had a long adventure with this baby.
The headstock broke in a way that doesn't allow much gluing surface.
It's quite slim a chance.
But we discussed and thought to risk it.
I repaired the crack four times.
Repair #1

Before

It looks obvious but it’s smooth to touch.
Before- tuner nylon washer worn out x 1
After
D’addario EZ920
Before
After
Action @12th fret. Superb playability!
Sure enough, a day later, the head gave way again
Repair #2
Look how little gluing surface there is, as I pry open, the whole head gave way easily, but glued it up anyway

It gave way again, though this time it lasted a month
Repair #3
I had it glued again...
...but I thought this could do the trick...
..but after all this naive work, the neck gave way again
Repair #4
I had 2 offcuts of rosewood lying around. Jointed them for a back headplate
Here's the original head
I begin to cut a recess for the rosewood
Rough cutting the whole head
Sanded flat ready to receive the headplate
Back headplate being glued
Plenty of shaping, drilling the tuner holes, finishing
It looks pretty good.
This did the trick.
Learned much from this project
