I manage to piece the missing bits together,
but after levelling, they worn out and exposed the wood underneath,
though the damaged part is stable and smoothed to touch.
On hindsight, I could have coloured the exposed to a close gold colour
prior to piecing, to keep the repair less overt.
This job wasn't mine to begin with,
but I came away learning something new,
and a new desire to learning more in this area.
The finish was build up to be flushed and smooth to touch.
