Lesson 16/20 - 22/11/17 - Diminished 7th (Two Octaves) Without Over-Ringing Starting On A

Tips for this week

  1. Keep your double stops and chords in Mertz No.3, even volume for all the notes and play them tightly together. Nail length or condition could be a reason. Do check.
  2. Have a habit of getting ready just before you start, as we have discussed, either tuning the guitar, rehearsing the first few notes of the piece, recall and get into the story of your piece, etc. Make sure you have this habit from now on, whenever you play, in front of me or during your play in your practise sessions.
  3. Your pitching is very good. Keep doing this singing exercise (i = high do):-
    1213141516171i - i7i6i5i4i3i2i1

    Start your “do” on 6th string, 1st fret, F, then F#, G, G#, A, A#, B, C.
This a very good foundation for ear training.
  4. I’ll post the diminished 7th video soon. If not, pls remind me. Diminished 7th: 1-b3-b5-bb7. Diminished 7th starting on A, or Adim7: A-C-Eb-Gbb(F#).
